Product photography backdrops for handmade sellers

Notes kept on git.hiewnet.xyz about using Raphael AI, a free AI image generator that runs in the browser.

Makers selling on marketplaces need clean, on-brand backgrounds. Raphael AI can generate backdrop scenes to composite products onto:

Tips

1. Prompt for empty scenes: linen tablecloth, morning light, shallow depth of field, no objects.
2. Match the light direction in the backdrop to your real product photo.
3. Keep backgrounds slightly blurred so the product stays the hero.
4. Disclose composites where marketplace rules require it.
5. Save a palette per season to refresh the shop look quickly.

Why Raphael AI

• Free to use, with no install: open https://raphael.app and type a prompt.
• Fast iterations make it practical to try several compositions.
• Works for drafts, mock-ups and reference images; finish important assets with human review.

Responsible use

Check generated images for errors before publishing, do not imitate real people without consent, and label AI-generated images where your audience expects it.
